In the beginning, wrestling on television was meant as a way to push superstars in short, one-sided matches as well as interviews before and after each match with the purpose to grab people's interest and make them pay to see the big supercards. But in the mid-1990s with the Monday Night Wars, the total mindset of wrestling on television was flipped upside down and now, quality wrestling and marquee matches were given away free each week on TV like it was a completely normal thing. Now fans everywhere had a free way to see quality wrestling.
Inspired by a similar poll on the DVDVR Message Board, TWV Interactive now has a weekly poll led by Douglas Nunnally for fans to voice their opinion on what was truly the best free television match of the week. RAW, ECW, iMPACT!, & SmackDown! are all represented each and every week for their matches, whether it be a short, squash match or a long, technical masterpiece.
