August 20, 2005 Show:
August 20th saw The Wrestling Crossfire deliver a jam-packed show filled with interviews, shoots, reviews, mega-contests, and a very rushed host. Starting off the show, Doug Nunnally talked about how rushed he was in trying to record the show and get to a NWA-VA show to commentate in less than 4 hours. He never made it to the show, but what he did do was give the fans what they want: the no words barred feel of The Wrestling Crossfire!
Off the bat, Doug stepped into the TWC Mailroom and answered questions from the fans on a cornucopia of topics including CM Punk, the indies, the WWE Hall of Fame, overrated wrestlers, pushes, Velocity, new champions, and more. It was a certainly a riveting visit to the TWC Mailroom and for someone as rushed as Doug, all those questions didn't help! From this, Doug talked about WWE's recent usage of WWE.com to further their product and the impact it has done for them.
Following that topic, Doug interviewed Empire State Wrestling star Cade Cassidy in a very open interview. The two discussed the death of Cade's mother, the impact it had on his career, steriods in wrestling, the indy scene, Canadian wrestling versus American wrestling, WWE, Pro Wrestling NOAH, TNA, politics, and much more. Cade definitly dove deep into his mind to answer these questions and the personal nature of some of them makes it an amazing interview that needs to be heard to be believed. Doug followed the interview up with the Columnist of the Show as well as debuting a brand spankin' new segment for The Wrestling Crossfire.
Doug then reviewed TNA's recent PPV Sacrifice and talked about everything from the matches to the way the promotion is run. Not being a TNA advocate, Doug holds nothing back in his review, but gives credit to TNA on many positives on the recent PPV. After this, Doug ends up the show with TWV Talk about TWV's free live coverage of Summerslam tommorrow and upcoming news for The Wrestling Crossfire, but more importantly, he delivers the details on how to win the TWC co-host contest! Doug asked five questions spanning wrestling past and present. All fans who e-mail all five correct answers to crossfire@thewrestlingvoice.com will be entered into a random drawing and the lucky winner will get to either co-host or host his own segment with his topic of choice on the September 3rd episode! This is the most innovative and unique contest an internet wrestling audio show has done to date and it just futhers TheWrestlingVoice.com's cause to get the fan's opinions out there.
All in all, the August 20th episode of The Wrestling Crossfire was a rushed one, but certainly not a bad one. With the topics given, questions asked, contests delivered, and stars interviewed, this show is a must for all wrestling fans to listen to.
