The Intricate Spectrum: RAW/Smackdown

I'm going to give myself a little pleasure here and do a good old random thoughts column on various things such as RAW, Smackdown, SNME & Wrestlemania. I will start off first with my thoughts on this weeks RAW.

Monday Night Raw

Well basically this show did nothing for me it was pathetic on some ways. The fact that the divas featured more heavily then the wrestlers is really bad especially around Wrestlemania time when every tiny bit of build matters. Ric Flair vs. Shelton Benjamin was a decent enough match but Flairs attack on on Shelton after the match seemed rather uninspired and just lacked any real intensity. Theodore Long announced that there will be three Smackdown participants in the Money In The Bank Ladder match at Wrestlemania, This seemed like the logical thing to do as Wrestlemania needed and inter promotional match and it's a good way too get all 6 superstars over. Vince's little acceptance speech in an academy award style it was kinda funny but kinda dragged on, it was announced during this segment that Chris Masters & Carlito would take on Kane & Big Show this was just a way to get all 4 men involved in Wrestlemania. We then had a cameo from Shawn Michaels who finally showed a little passion and it was announced Shawn would take on Shane later on in the night. Triple H took on Kane in a rather dull match, Kane just looks terrible nowadays he is slow and sloppy and logically Masters & Carlito interfered and cost Kane the match.

The Edge and Mick Foley did what it needed to do the divas match before hand did nothing for me, I hope Foley can have that Wrestlemania classic he really wants to have he deserves it and so does Edge. We had a backstage segment with Shawn and Stephanie she claimed that she was a changed woman and she wanted to apologize and put on a charade that the baby was causing her some trouble Shawn ran to get a drink or her she spiked his drink this segment was somewhat entertaining. Now we have the Shane vs. Shawn match, Shawn sold the drugging well it kinda built the Mania match. We move onto the Main Event and this match was solid Cena seems to work well with Big Show for some odd reason this match was rather good and the FU did look impressive. All in all pretty average show not a Wrestlemania caliber build show.

Friday Night Smackdown

I enjoyed this show much more then Monday's RAW it just seemed better structured and had a more driven purpose, We opened up with a promo from Henry & Daivari and then comment from Daivari about how can you have a classic without Mark Henry was a good shits & giggles moment for me. Kurt Angle then came out followed bu Randy Orton which prompted Rey Mysterio to come out naturally a bit of brawl until Theodore Long came out and announced a tag team main event the segment worked for me.

Lashley & Finlay have been the absolute highlight of the past few weeks for me such a simple feud but so well done there wild brawls are just awesome and very well done and that is quite frankly my favorite feud at the moment and if they don't have a match at Mania it's a absolute travesty. JBL had a promo putting over SNME and his beer drinking contest with Stone Cold as well as sending out a warning to Benoit that he was going to take his title from him at Wrestlemania strong promo as always from JBL. Another person I am loving at the moment on Smackdown is Gregory Helms he has really built the Cruiserweight title up to mean something he was backstage complaining to Teddy Long about how much he has to defend the Cruiserweight title and how he had a broken nose so out of all this Teddy Long announced it would be Champion vs. Champion with Helms taking on Benoit. And please tell me you did not enjoy Burchill out there and I am so glad they are building it as more of a joke rather then serious and as strange as this may sound it will get Burchill over his match with Regal was decent and served it's purpose Bruchill isn't a bloody fool. Now getting back to Helms and Benoit these two put on a good match and it really made Helms look strong and put the Cruiserweight title over and it was good too see the other cruisers come out once again and throw Helms back in the ring and I must say props to Helms for taking the Crossface with a broken nose that must of hurt.

The main event was good with Angle, Mysterio and Orton doing most of the work as you would expect it's good too see there starting to build this feud as well. The match ended with Henry getting his team Disqualified and in then end Orton instructed Henry to put Angle threw a table good little ending I somewhat enjoyed but it truly makes my blood turn cold whenever I see Henry. When then get the scary Taker voice telling Henry that they would be having a casket match at Mania I am pretty sure that match will be decent despite Henry being in there as their match on Smackdown was quite good a few weeks back.

Also I would also like to announce I have begun an Audio Show named the same as my column The Intricate Spectrum I'm hoping to make it a weekly thing if the reports back are good. You can e-mail me in questions for next weeks show at urbanleg3nd@hotmail.com.
