Well, Part 2 of my fan participation column is here. I’ve decided to save my Raw comments with the Taboo Tuesday comments, since I have little time to talk about both, so I’ll have some quick Taboo Tuesday stuff at the end of the column. First, my fan participation deal. Now, I want a name for this. “Fan Participation Column” has zero ring to it. I want creativity. So, I am looking to you, the fans, to supply me with a name that will be creative, and original. I want something unique. I’ll be doing another one of these in November, and I want a classy name for it! E-mail me all suggestions at carl_macqueen@ns.sympatico.ca . Thanks a million. Now, onto this column.
6. A rumor surfaced that Steve Austin and Diamond Dallas Paige would star in their own reality series. I loved the idea, but apparently it's not true. If one or two current or past WWE or NWA superstars could have their own reality series, who would you choose?
Mike fischbach wrote: HHH...Only because hes been in the business for a while now and is in high places with the McMahons.It would make an interesting thing to watch.
Vegasrollers wrote: Well one guy somes to mind since hes already a big star is the rock but i would love to see hogan and piper in a show like the surreal life.
Xpunkgd86 wrote: HHH...So that while he is running/starring in it, he wouldn't be on my WWE TV...
Sk84life18bb: Its gotta be mick foley doing anything of the sort. Its funny that he was not wrestling for 4 years, but in 00-01 he was the commish or a ref and he was still great like he was still on the active roster.
Dwayne Nicholls wrote: Torrie Wilson / Stacy Keibler - Do You Need to ask...?
Paolo Brighelli wrote: Mick Foley & DDP, because after what i read about those two in Mick Foleys first book, they sound very amusing together.
Ice9x wrote: stacy keibler. anything that gets her on tv more often is a good idea. she
could do something with one or more of the other divas.
TheSic wrote: Raven, he is an enigma.
Kidrapture wrote: i would watch piper have his own show
Eric X wrote: I would have for the most part currently released WWE talent and also have some older talent from back in the day try to live together like the real world. Yes its not original but its appealing to wrestling fans.
What I think: While many had some great answers, I think anything involving Steve Austin would have me tuned in each week. I love the guy, and I think he is one interesting man to hear about, read about, and most of all, watch. He’s a very intelligent guy, and I would watch his show every night of the week, if I could.
7. Sting Signing With WWE: It didn't’t happen yet, but if it did, would it be a good or bad idea?
Mike Tyler wrote: Sting sucks - so he'd fit in WWE (Mr. X says: Ouch, zing. That’s a burn on WWE, Mike.)
Mike fischbach wrote: Sting + WWE = BAD idea.Look at RVD,When he was in ECW he was the ultimate wrestler.Now that hes in the WWE he is ruined and looks bad.If sting came in they would have him feud with someone like Kane or something and Kane would dominate him making him look bad then he would just drop to Midcard and
never grab a title.
Lmart10714 wrote: I think if Sting signed with WWE, it would be a bad idea, WWE likes developing new stars & yet honoring the veterans at the same time, WWE has enough veterans (HBK, Benoit, Taker, Triple H, Eddie, Flair, Kurt, Booker, JBL) & certainly WWE are pushing the younger talent (Orton, Cena, Christian, Edge, Hardy, London, Kidman etc). I dont think the WWE is big enough for another huge name like Sting to make an impact & steal the younger talents thunder.
Stewart Ward: Sting in the WWE would be awesome. A truly living legend who should have been snapped up well before Goldberg was even considered. Would have made the match against Lesnar at Wrestlemania XX look good.
Shaneo writes: … very good idea in my opinion, I love the old sting character… the one that dropped from the rafters and beat the f*** out of people with bats, it was great television.
BKGASW4ever1 wrote: If Sting were brought into WWE, it could be a GOOD idea, but if they were to use the lame face paint thing, that would be bad...C'mon, who does that anymore? With the right look Sting could make a huge impact as is, without all the paint, like he appeared several times in WCW during his last heel turn. Hopefully they would use him RIGHT, unlike Steiner!
Andy Cliff wrote: Bad idea now. He's too old and i'd prefer WWE to build up a star for the
future rather than bring in another old guy. However i would have loved it
if he had signed around 1998.
TheSic wrote: Sting signing with WWE would be a good idea of the WWE reminded people of what Sting meant to WCW. To remind them of the battles he had with Vader, Sid Vicious, Hogan, Nature Boy. I believe they could with flashbacks and commentary by former WCW athletes. So many dream matches that could happen from his return.
What I think: Does it matter? I think the majority believes it’s good for WWE, and terrible for Sting. I have always dreamt of someone else big coming in, but why bother? WWE only misuses their big names that debut from other companies (RVD, Goldberg, Scott Steiner), when they deserve better. Sting would probably feud with Hunter, win the title, then lose it, before skipping out after a year or so, a la Goldberg.
8. The dream Wrestlemania main-event: Past or present stars in ANY wrestling company, who would you love to see one-on-one? It can be absolutely anyone from any era, at the top of their game, and in their prime.
Chris Brown wrote: Bret Hart Vs. Kurt angle Or Chris Benoit Or Chris Jericho, Bret Vs. any of these guys would be a dream match.
Mike Tyler wrote: Bret Hart V Shawn Michaels - i know it happened but damn it was great (Mr. X says: This would be an awesome main event, with years of heat already built.)
Maggottribe420 wrote: Chris Benoit (WWE) vs Chris Hero (CZW) - a purist dream
Xpunkgd86 wrote: Bob Holly vs. George "The Animal" Steele...
NOT! Wow, that sent shivers up my spine... How about...Kurt Angle (Circa 2000-2001) vs. Bret Hart (Cerca..Well he always ruled...) ..Masterpeice... (Mr. X says: Hilarious, Xpunk, but the second one is a major dream Wrestlemania match.)
Rattle Snake wrote: my dream match would be Chris Benoit vs Ricky "the dragon" Steamboat vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart. After seeing a numbers of tape of these guys, i quite frankly think that they are three of the best wrestlers ever to be in a ring. They're great technicians and they know how to really tell a story in the ring wich is a lost art these days. These three guys would put out one of the greateast performance of all time and would show to everybody what real wrestling is all about.
Stewart Ward wrote: Elimination Chamber for the Title: Stone Cold v Rock v Bret Hart v Chris Benoit v Undertaker v HBK Special Guest referee: Mankind (Mr. X says: Wow, battle of the greats, if I ever saw one. MAJOR money-making match.)
BKGSWA4ever1: Well...this is very tough. After all of my many combinations, I gotta pick...Bret Hart in his prime vs. Chris Benoit in an Iron Man Match for the World Championship! The match would be so perfect, it would be a dream...such a dream in fact, it'll never happen!
Vignesh wrote: Shawn Michaels vs Chris Benoit (World Heavyweight Title) {Iron Man}
Triple H vs Brock Lesnar (WWE Title) {Hell In A Cell}
Randy Orton/John Cena vs Nash/Hogan (Tag Team Titles)
Chris Jericho vs Scott Steiner (Intercontinental Title)
Edge vs Test (U.S. Title)
Chyna vs Stacy Keibler
Billy Gunn/Road Dogg vs Bubba/DVon {Tables}
Batista vs Luther Reigns
Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas/Rico vs Matt Morgan/Nathan Jones/Jon Heidenreich
X-Pac vs Spike {Refree: Rey Mysterio}
The Undertaker/Kane vs Booker T/Rob Van Dam vs Kurt Angle/Eddie Guerrero vs The Rock/Goldberg {Cage}
Mankind vs Stone Cold Steve Austin {Hardcore Rules}
Russell Harbour says: Andre the Giant vs Big Show (The Infamous Battle of the Giants)
What I think: Vignesh had one hell of an idea. That would be a monstrous Wrestlemania. If I had to narrow the field down to just two competitors though, I would go with Chris Benoit and Bret Hart… oh wait! A triple threat match was just announced! Add in Kurt Angle. Wow, that is a drool-worthy match.
9. Eric Bischoff has outlasted them all, and if history repeats itself, Theodore Long won't last forever. Who would you like to see become a GM after Long?
Maggottribe420 wrote: Paul Heyman...then he could leave in 2 months and start an ECW Brand like they had planned oh so many months ago.
Lmart10714 wrote: Id like to see Joey Styles (ex ECW announcer) as a new GM, dude I could see a good leader in this guy.
Rattle Snake: i really think that Long is doing a great job so it would be a bad move by wwe to remove him from his spot but it seems like they want to witch the smackdown gm every 4-6 months, so i think the next should be Stephanie McMahon. Yes, her voice is really bad, but when she tone it down, she comes off really good on the mic. She's a natural to interact with the wreslters and she already has history with bischoff, wich would help bring back the war between both brands.
Dwayne Nicholls wrote: Shane O'Mac, for the sheer fact everybody misses the dude.. he's resonably entertaining i believe but id prefer Long to stay where he is.
Russell Harbour wrote: Stephanie McMahon! She was a excellent GM and I think she should come back and take the job again.(Plus, Everyone loves a little Steph every now and then) If not Stephanie...let Shane O' Mac take it.
TheSic wrote: Paul Heyman of course. I never understood why he lost control in the first place. He has just as much heat as Bischoff and he even looks more evil. Vince fears the competition.
What I think: I think myself, Rattle Snake, and Russell all have the same idea: Stephanie. I loved Stephanie as the GM. She really toned down that annoying nature about herself that she created as a heel. Now, she’s calm, mild, and meek. I would love to see her back on the show.
I left one question off, you say? You’re right. I am stretching this out ONCE more, and this Sunday, I will be taking a look at everyone’s ideas of being a wrestler. I loved the ideas so much, I want to include all of them, because I know more than anyone that when an idea strikes, you want EVERYONE to hear about it.
Taboo Tuesday is tonight, baby. Predictions? Okay, I have none. I think the show is meant to be unpredictable, so I am leaving it at that. What I will indulge you in are my own votes for Taboo Tuesday. Without further wait, here are my votes for Taboo Tuesday, done LIVE as I type this.
You choose the attire for the Womens match: School Girl Outfit. Yes, I know, it’s Lawler’s pick, but what difference does it make? The outfit won’t give someone magic powers. Oh wait, they are supposed to make us guys drool over them more? Well, fair enough.
Carmella vs. Christy type of match: Evening gown match. Where is the bra and panties match? I thought Carmella said this last night on Raw, and I don’t think the Lingerie match constitutes as bra and panties, but whatever. Doesn’t matter, I think Christy will still win, and both will be VERY rusty in the ring.
Type of weapon for Kane and Snitsky: Lead pipe. What else?
Bischoff vs. Eugene: Who in their right mind won’t vote for Shave your Head match? I wonder who will be getting their lovely locks of hair cut off tonight.
Orton vs. Flair type of match: Steel cage, of course. Wow, some of these are REALLY easy for WWE to plan out. I doubt the other two will register much on the map.
Opponent for Jericho: He got Vince’s support, why not mine? Since I don’t want to see ANOTHER Y2J/CLB encounter, and I think Batista should only tag team with Ric Flair, and fight in those matches, I am choosing Shelton Benjamin. No need for face vs. heel. This can still work fine.
Opponent for Triple H: Chris Benoit. I know, I wanted Edge to win this, but what’s the point? He never will now, so I prefer Benoit over HBK for this match.
That completely does it AGAIN for another few days. Man, this was still a hard column to do, because I wanted to evenly divide all the answers, but it’s impossible. Hopefully, at least one of every person was featured in this column, and no one stood out with four answers shown. I’m all for equality. Anyway, I will try and be back on Thursday (no need to lie about it) with my thoughts on Raw and Taboo Tuesday. It will be another jam-packed column, with a ton to say. Until then, I’m Mr. X saying a vote for Chris Benoit is a vote for Canada. Okay, maybe you hate Canada. Oh well! Buh-bye.
