Howlings - WWE disappointments
Posted by Barbara Pinnella on 03/10/2006

Well, I didn’t intend to fall off the face of the earth for so long, but stuff happens. Anyway, I’m back now, but not in the best of moods, I’m afraid. I watched very little wrestling during the last few weeks, but decided to settle down the other day and do some catching up, starting with the most recent programs. I must admit, I didn’t see very much of the shows. I quickly became bored and began to fast-forward through Raw and SmackDown!.

How would I describe the current programming of the WWE? Tedious, boring and repetitive. Even if it is hard to come up with different ideas all the time, at least things could be changed up a bit to make us THINK things are new and refreshing. Too much to ask, apparently.

Vince is still enamored with his ass and has taken to showing it off again. OK, it’s not bad for a man his age, but do we really have to watch people be made to kiss it? This was a stupid idea before and has not become better with the passage of time.

“Never trust a McMahon” – wasn’t that the battle cry when Stephanie and Shane were on the shows regularly in the past? But now Steph takes advantage of her pregnancy to bait Shawn Michaels, offering an apology for the way he has been treated. She needs to turn over a new leaf, for her unborn child, you know. Suuure! HBK dutifully get her some water so that she can put some tranquilizer into his water bottle, allowing both brother Shane and daddy Vince to obtain easy victories.

Triple H is still walking around with his equalizer, the sledgehammer. Nothing new with that, now is there?

And we also seem to have a renewed interest in lesbian angles and suggestions. Between Mickie James’ infatuation with Trish and the way Victoria was acting on this weeks Raw, things could be heading down the old road of Hot Lesbian Action. God help us. What’s next, another necrophilia angle?

Undertaker and Kurt Angle had a good match last week; I did enjoy that. But why insist that it was to see who would be in one of the main events at Wrestlemania? It has been common knowledge for weeks that ‘Taker would face Mark Henry at WM, so it was absolutely no surprise when Henry interfered in the match and cost Undertaker the win. Don’t assume that the fans are so stupid as to not know who would have to win that match.

There also appears to be an abundance of wins by either distractions or disqualifications. What happened to clean finishes? They are in the minority now, which just doesn’t seem right to me.

I think what has me the angriest is that I want to look forward to the shows. I have had a lot of fun watching them over the years and I want to have that feeling back again. I’m just waiting for things to change up, and maybe I’m just a bit too impatient. But the WWE does need some help lately, and that is a fact. I hope they find a way to start making some transformations, and soon!

Be safe and God Bless,
Viva la Raza,
Barb.
